An Arm and a Leg
Today I am officially announcing the news that Salvius will be receiving a new pair of arms and legs. The new arms will be lighter and include more joints than the previous ones. The arm's elbow joints are a significant part of the design because they incorporate rotating joints at each end. These joints eliminate the need for overly complex wrist and solder joints. The images bellow are graphic representations of how the elbow joints will be made.
The legs for the robot will be very simple but once added. I have created a setup that should allow the robot to achieve limited bipedal walking without the use of expensive gyroscopes and accelerometers. Once the legs are installed Salvius will be a true humanoid robot in every sense of the definition since I admittedly stretched the term humanoid to make it apply to a robot with no legs.
